Programs in this area enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing. Our programs include:

Fine Arts Exhibits...Local, regional & national exhibits take place that display the talents and artistic expressions of our Club members. Pieces of art are chosen from the regional exhibit to be displayed at the B&GCA national conference each year. Sponsored by L'OREAL

National Photography Contest...Throughout the year staff take Club members on photo field trips and have guest instructors come to the Club to teach them photography. Each year we hold a local photo exhibit and judge the photos. The best photos are sent on to the national office where they choose the pictures that will be displayed at our national conference. Our kids have won four national photography exhibit awards

Performing Arts Group...Tryouts are held for this highly distinguished group of Club members who perform at various functions during Christmas, Fourth of July and others at the request of the Club staff. Members are given tickets to attend the Alex City Arts Council Sponsored events

Arts & Crafts...Simple craft projects are part of the weekly program at the Boys & Girls Clubs. Members can use their imagination to draw, make stuffed sea turtles, honor Mom or Dad with a special project on their day or just experiment with different kinds materials to express their creativity.
