Where Do Your Children Go After School

Education, Career & Technology

Programs in this core program area enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology to achieve success in a career. Our programs include:

Project Learn...Reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge young people learn in school during the hours they spend at the Club. Research shows that students do much better in school when they spend their non-school hours engaged in fun, but academically beneficial activities. Staff use all areas of the Club to provide "high yield learning activities" that develop a young persons cognitive skills. Sponsored by J.C. Penny's

Power Hour...Helps members be more successful in school by providing homework help and tutoring and encouraging members to become self-directed learners. Sponsored by Coca Cola

Teen Supreme Career Prep (Job Ready)...Prepares members to enter into and be successful in the world of work. Teens learn how to identify job opportunities, write effective resumes, perform well in interviews, dress appropriately, develop good work habits and get along well with others. Sponsored by Taco Bell

Computer Education...Boys & Girls Club members are able to enjoy the latest in state of the art technology. Computer education classes including Microsoft Office, publishing, internet use and safety are offered.
