Why We Are Special

• The Boys & Girls Clubs are for Boys & Girls ages 5-18 only

• Annual membership dues are low and affordable to all youth

• The Clubs have an open door policy which allows youth access to ongoing activities anytime the Club is open

• The Clubs are staffed with full time professionals, part time staff and volunteers

• We are non-sectarian

• The Clubs require no proof of good character to be a member

• The Boys & Girls Clubs are facility based

An Ounce of Prevention

It takes money to run a Boys & Girls Club -- on average, about $200 per youth per year. But consider the alternative: keeping a young adult in jail costs taxpayers anywhere from $25,000 to $75,000 per year. Boys & Girls Clubs - a proven delinquency prevention program -- are one of the best bargains in America.

In its 1999 "Philanthropy 400" report, The Chronicle of Philanthropy ranked the Boys & Girls Club Movement No. 1 among youth organizations for the sixth consecutive year, and No. 8 among all non-profit organizations.
